Kugelgarn^® for demanding spaces in healthcare facilities

Creating a sense of home and identity was the goal of the Saale Pharmacy in Schwarzbach during its renovation, which was planned and implemented by the mediraum design office in Leipzig. Light, inviting materials were combined with rich blue and grey tones to create a strong connection to the region. 

As soon as you enter, the lively wooden floor with its striking grain draws your gaze to the sales counter, behind which Kugelgarn^® in the Impression^® grönland 246 quality is used. The wood and the beige-grey-blue flooring combine to create warm accents and a pleasant atmosphere. Kugelgarn^® blends harmoniously into the design concept and impresses with its durability, ease of care and pleasant feel – ideal properties for the busy everyday life of a pharmacy. 

Colours, fonts and clear structures 

Above the display, the first verses of the poem ‘An der Saale hellem Strande’ (On the bright banks of the Saale) by Franz Theodor Kugler emphasise the owner's regional roots. Different fonts and emphases create specific accents. Shades of blue and grey are reflected in the shelf design and on the floor, creating a calm overall look. Subtle textures and clear contrasts draw attention to the products and make it easier to find your way around. 

Modern, sustainable and customer-friendly 

The renovation combines aesthetic enhancement with functional optimisation. A medicine dispensing machine speeds up internal processes and gives the pharmacy a modern look. The concept is complemented by a solar system on the flat roof, which enables self-sufficient air conditioning and underlines the pharmacy's sustainable approach.
